  3. Mark my words, after the Combine, Tyron Smith will be the #1 rated OT. If DAL decides to address O-line in the 1st (I don't think they will, with guys like Ijalana/O. Franklin/Cannon likely available in the 2nd, and F.A. options like Davin Joseph/Justin Blalock), Smith, and not Solder (overrated-chewed up and spit out by Kerrigan at the Senior Bowl)) will be the pick. Smith is eerily similar to D'Brickashaw Ferguson, another athletic OT who moved into the top 5 after gaining a bit of weight and impressing at the Combine.

  4. I love the A. Smith/TB pick (perfect fit), and as Ia Jets fan, I have to love the Ayers pick. Realistically, I know his instincts are iffy, but his raw athleticism and knack for the big play demands that he be drafted higher than that. Mallett WILL NOT be drafted in the 1st (and maybe not even the 2nd). There are rumors of a drug problem, and to be frank (and hopefully not offend anyone), I don't think NFL owners or GMs want a WIGGER as the face of their franchise. Google "Mallett/Wigger" if you want tangible evidence of his ignorance/stupidity.

  5. MProfetta...awesome post we have all been looking for tangible evidence as to why its been speculated that Mallett was going to fall so far in the draft. On pure talent alone, he should be ranked higher than Gabbert on people's draftboards yet the speculation is that he might end up being the 5th or 6th pick in the draft. He is just a strange character. Here is a clip of him at a press conference when he was at Michigan: (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zf5D7McdN0I&feature=related) , than listen to the one at Arkansas: (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BW7BFdGXc2o) Notice the heavy difference in his accent? If you look at the analysis I did on him, read his quotes under "intangibles"...too be honest though, someone will see him throw at the combine and look past all of this. It happens every year

  6. First of all, the man's name is J.J. Watt, not Wyatt. Second, the Lions draft best player available, and Watt is not a better player than Julio Jones. He's not better than Cameron Jordan, so if the Lions did decide they didn't want Jones Jordan makes way more sense. Watt's a lot like Chris Long, and the Lions aren't going to wait several years for him to adjust, they're in a position to move up to the playoffs next year with a solid offseason.

  7. Thanks for the comment. I wouldn't compare Watt to Chris Long because he is more versitile. He is 6' 6" 290lbs, yet athletic enough to play both DE or DT...Chris Long is about 3 inches shorter (shorter arms) and 25 lbs lighter right now...The trend now for 4-3 defenses is to have a guy much like Justin Tuck that can move around the D-Line in different situations and wreak havoc. While I'm sure as a fan, Julio Jones would be a more exciting pick for you, Watt IS one of the best players available at that spot, and he is only going to be more desirable after the combine...some people are projecting him in the top 10...Not to mention, Cameron Jordan is being projected to play DE in the 3-4...not the ideal fit for the Lions
